Retired Asher Baseball Coach Murl Bowen was recently one of three honored at a Silo baseball game for being in the top 10 with the most wins nationwide. The other two were his nephews, Billy Jack Bowen and Randy Bowen. The elder Bowen had an all-time record of 2,115-349 from 1959 to 1998. Children in the 7-8 age group pick up plastic eggs during the Tecumseh EGGsperience and Block Party on April 8. The event was organized by volunteers at Tecumseh First Assembly of God and held in the empty lot at South 4th and East Washington streets. The Barnard Elementary LEGO Savages received the Core Values Award during a FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Qualifying Event at Gordon Cooper Technology Center last fall. Because of that, they have now been invited to represent Oklahoma at the FIRST LEGO League World Festival, in Houston, April 19-22. The team includes Jude LaChappell, Stetson Smith, Emory Cox, Cameron Thompson, Austin Qualls and Landon Williams, plus Team Mentor Mardesia Finch. Photo provided.
