The June 27 Bethel School Board Meeting was a quieter one than usual, with few action items.
Approval was made to release Bethel PTO as a sanctioned club, and also to release activity funds to them as they work though gaining a 501 C-3 status. This decision came after Superintendent Dr.

Taco Boy Receives Conditional Use Permit, Vyve Agreement Approved

Those eating at Taco Boy Taqueria can now order beer and wine with their meals. During the Tecumseh City Council Meeting on July 5, a Conditional Use Permit was approved for the restaurant at 401 N. Rangeline, as recommended by the Planning Commission.

Molly Wilson Named New Will Rogers Principal

Molly Wilson was named as principal of Will Rogers Elementary at a recent Shawnee Board of Education meeting.
Wilson will take over the position from Jackie Noble, who was named as director of elementary education for the district at the same meeting.

Tecumseh School Board Prepares For New Fiscal Year

The Tecumseh school board approved a slew of general business items to prepare for the new fiscal year, beginning July 1, at its meeting on June 27.
The board approved FY’22 encumbrances, warrants and activity fundraising requests for the 2022-23 school year.

Wanette’s Independence Day fireworks show has been an event for 15 or 16 years. It is paid for entirely from community donations. This year, they raised $3,000. Countywide & Sun/Natasha Dunagan

Wanette may be a small town, but they have an impressive, non-stop fireworks show on July 4.
Mayor Nathan Gregory said the fireworks are paid for entirely by donation, and the community gave $3,000 this year.
