Marlys Lee Sitter

Marlys Lee Sitter, a resident of Shawnee, passed away on Feb. 14, 2023 at her home. Marlys was born on Aug. 27, 1960. Services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 16, at 11:00 am at the Little Church of Christ. Interment will follow the funeral at Little Cemetery.

Willa A. Powell passed away Jan. 31, 2023. She was born June 16, 1941 to Martin and Dora (White) Stein in Wellston, Oklahoma. Willa graduated in 1959 from Wellston High School. She attended Draughon’s Business School in Oklahoma City for accounting. She married Thomas J. Powell on Sep.

Gregory Alan Barber

Gregory Alan Barber passed away on Jan. 30, 2023. Greg was born on Jan. 26, 1965, in Camden, Arkansas to Chuck and Paula Barber. Greg graduated college with a bachelor’s degree and worked as a mechanical engineer.

Virginia Mae Bryce-Hopkins

Virginia Mae BryceHopkins passed away Jan. 29, 2023. Virginia was born January 3, 1930 to Sherman and Goldie (Lawson) Bryce. Virginia completed High School in Bethel Acres. She married Odis Jefferson Hopkins on May 28, 1949 and retired as a shipping and receiving manager at TDK.

Barton (Bart) Douglas

Barton (Bart) Douglas West passed away on Feb. 3, 2023 after a brief illness. Bart was born on June 23, 1965 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Terry and Phyllis (Barclay) West. Bart worked as a paralegal at The West Law Firm for more than 30 years, working daily with his father and brother.

Elizabeth Ann Oliver

Elizabeth Ann Oliver passed away Feb. 1, 2023. Elizabeth, “Libby,” was born on July 1, 1948 in Tecumseh, OK to Loyd and Flossie Willis. She graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1966. Soon after graduating Libby married Herman Oliver. While they lived in Seminole, Libby had three daughters.

Marilyn S. Clark

Marilyn S. Clark passed away January 25, 2023. Marilyn was born on September 13, 1940 in Harrah, Oklahoma to Ray and Jessie (Navarre) Moore. She graduated from Harrah High School and married Don in 1958 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.

Vaden Robert Smith

Vaden Robert Smith passed away January 29, 2023. Vaden was born in Morris, Oklahoma on March 19, 1939 to Vernon and Willine Smith. After graduating from Dale High School in 1957, Vaden worked for Gentry Farming in Shawnee and in the oilfields in New Mexico.

David R. Harjo

David R. Harjo passed away on January 25, 2023. David was born on May 7, 1961 in Shawnee to his parents, Homer and Julia (Curley) Harjo. David was preceded in death by his father, Homer Harjo, mother, Julia Corn, and brothers, Larry Harjo and Mark L. Harjo. Survivors include his children, Randi R.
