Session Priorities Take Center Stage

As we gather once again at the Capitol for a new legislative session, the pace has already been brisk and purposeful. Opening day began with a joint session of the Oklahoma House and Senate, followed by the governor’s State of the State address.

He Ate with a Coming Appetite

He was lanky and seemed to be frozen at 6’1”. This one-man buffet-wrecker never seemed to get enough food. He told his family and friends that the more he ate, the hungrier he got. This plate-cleaner would often plan his next meal while he was eating.

Although February is the shortest month of the year, it has several “special” days such as Groundhog Day on Feb. 2 That meant we were halfway through the winter season.

Midway through last year, President Trump signed the Working Families Tax Cut legislation into law. This sweeping legislation extended the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and delivered new tax relief for millions of hardworking Americans.
