We are officially in the interim as we adjourned Sine Die last week. The Second Session of the 60th Oklahoma Legislature has officially come to a close, and with that I want to take a moment to share a few highlights from the work we completed this year.

I have been privileged with sharing what is going on in Pottawatomie County for the past nine months, but it is now coming to an end. Interning at the Countywide & Sun opened my eyes to the community around me that I had never been super involved in before.

THS Internship comes to a close

For the second semester of my senior year, I interned here at Countywide and Sun for my last class of the day, Monday through Wednesday, every week for about eighteen weeks. During my time, I learned more and more about writing every day.

As we close out the Second Session of the 60th Oklahoma Legislature, the House officially adopted a resolution to Sine Die on Thursday, May 14. We adjourned to the call of the chair on May 7 after completing action on all remaining legislation before the constitutional deadline.

The Data Center Consumer Ratepayer Protection Act is now headed to the governor's desk. I was proud to serve as the Senate author of this bipartisan legislation, which passed both chambers unanimously.

A legacy of strength and faith

I love my mother-in-law. She's a petite woman with a heart as vast as Utah - her home - and more energy than most people half her age. That's likely why she's lived to a happy 94 years old. Her doctors are baed by her vitality, often asking what she does differently from others her age.
