This past week was extremely busy here at the Capitol as we worked to complete voting on Senate bills filed in our chamber ahead of the March 3 deadline to advance them from our committees. Of the 800 measures initially filed, we approved nearly 400 of them.

Dear Editor, What a Wednesday! Our first bicycle ride out of our new Tecumseh location kicked off with a nice crowd the evening of March 2nd. We had 29 riders for this first of what will be a weekly event.

Inflation is at a 40-year high, and House Republicans are working to provide tax relief to Oklahomans this session. The House Rules Committee approved five bills that the Legislature can choose from to grant much-needed financial relief.

The first two weeks of Session have come and gone and it was packed full of meetings with constituents and legislation. As for my involvement in the first two weeks of the Legislative Session, it has primarily revolved around education legislation.

We’re nearing the end of our first month of the new legislative session. One of the House Republican Caucus’ priorities this year is broadband expansion. Right now, Oklahoma ranks 43rd nationally for rural access to broadband, with only 48% of rural households having broadband connections.
