SSC to Honor '76 National Championship Belles Team

Seminole State College will recognize members of its 1976 national championship women’s basketball team — the Belles, who delivered the school’s first national team title — during an on-court ceremony at the team’s home game Monday, Feb. 16.

THS basketball season closes soon

The Savage basketball team has been on a roll since returning from Christmas break with a 9-4 record. Tecumseh has won four straight and seven of the last nine games. They picked up a couple of tough wins last week against county rivals.

Macomb sophomore reaches 1,000 career points with determination, experience

Adilyn “Addy” Beauchamp has been playing basketball since she was in preschool, participating in school basketball festivals, she said in an email.Now a sophomore at Macomb High School, Beauchamp recently achieved her 1,000th high school career point.
Oklahoma Baptist junior pitcher Kody Bialas won Great American Conference Pitcher of the Week honors Feb.9. It’s his first career honor. During the Sunday, Feb. 8 contest against Missouri-St. Louis, he tossed 7.1 innings, allowed just one run and fanned 12 batters. Plus, he did not walk a single batter as the Bison won in extra innings, 2-1.

Missouri–St. Louis used a barrage of late offense to pull away from Oklahoma Baptist, scoring 12 runs over the final four innings to secure a 16–8 victory Feb. 9 at Bobby Cox Field.Oklahoma Baptist jumped out quickly, plating four runs in the bottom of the first inning.

OBU Basketball ranked # 10

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The No. 10-ranked Oklahoma Baptist Bison defeated the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys in a thrilling 66–64 overtime victory on Saturday, Feb. 7, pushing their GAC record to 13-2 (19-2 on the season). It was the tenth straight win for the Bison.

NRC senior is first female athlete to reach 1,000 points in school history

History was made at the Washington Tournament on Jan. 22 when North Rock Creek (NRC) senior Kadence Munn made her 1,000th high school career point.Munn is the first female athlete to sink 1,000 points in school history. The first male athlete to reach that milestone was Noah McMullan on Feb.

Earlsboro Basketball begins playoffs

Earlsboro wrapped up their regular season basketball schedule Tuesday night in Moss with two big wins, 59-24 for the Lady Wildcats and 66-19 for the Wildcats.

Bethel hosts 16 schools at Powerlifting Meet

Bethel Powerlifters hosted the Seventh Annual Bethel Wildcat Powerlifting Meet on Thursday, Jan. 29, and Friday, Jan. 30. Mother Nature tried wreaking havoc, and the event was forced to condense from a three-day meet to a two-day meet.
