Washington Delivers The First Loss To The Bethel Wildcats

Washington, last season’s Class 2A State Runner-up, arrived at Bethel last Friday night boasting its #2 ranking and 65-member squad and quickly spoiled homecoming for the Wildcats with a 56-18 win, handing the hosts their first loss of the season. Bethel won the toss and deferred.

The Shawnee High School Band “Pride of the Pack” participated in the Bixby Tournament of Bands on Oct. 2. The band placed 11th in preliminary competition, won “Best Drum Major” in class 5A and finished 9th place in finals. Drum majors are Loralei Brem and DezaRae Simmons.

After winning the District 4A-2 Championship by a one-run differential, the Lady Savages are hosting a Regional Tournament today (Thursday) and tomorrow with a chance to advance to next week’s State Tournament.

The Tecumseh Savages and Lady Savages Cross Country team ran in the Sulphur Meet on Monday and came back with some hardware. The Savages ran a 3.3 mile course and came back with four of the top five finishes. Michael Juhl was second with a time of 20:01.
