Saturday, July 13, at 10 am, the YMCA in Shawnee will be hosting the long-awaited grand re-opening of the swimming pool. Along with YMCA staff members, the Shawnee High School Championship Swim team will be in attendance at this joyous occasion.

Shauna Belyeu, publisher of the Eufaula Indian Journal and McIntosh County Democrat, took office as president of the Oklahoma Press Association on July 1.She was elected by OPA members during the annual business meeting at the June 7-8 OPA Convention in Oklahoma City.

It’s Time For The 32nd International Youth Finals Rodeo

The trucks and trailers have begun to arrive in Shawnee. Soon the cowboys and cowgirls will begin competition.This diverse group of participants will gather in Shawnee, Oklahoma, marking the 32nd year of the IFYR.
