Honor Academy At New Hope Plans To Open In Aug. 2024

On New Hope Road, the old New Hope School was recently torn down. But, inside New Hope Baptist Church, there has been an idea for education incubating for more than a year. It started when someone asked Amber Crawley, wife of Pastor Shawn Crawley, about starting a “mother’s day out.”

On the agenda for the February Tecumseh School Board meeting, was the re-hiring of Assistant Superintendent Burks. After about an hour of deliberation in an executive session, the board unanimously approved her keeping the position.

There was a great crowd at the annual Pottawatomie County Junior Livestock Show Pig Roast and Trophy Auction held at the Citizen Potawatomi Nation Event Center (aka FireLake Arena) on Monday, Feb. 6.

Remembering WWII Veteran Raymond Talley

I want to spend some time this week reflecting on the life and legacy of William Raymond Talley. I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Talley when he was honored as the Veteran of the Week at the Oklahoma House of Representatives in October.

Earlsboro’s Friend Serves First Year As Superintendent

When the school year began, Earlsboro Public Schools had a new superintendent to lead them. However, instead of a fresh face, it was an old friend. Ryan Friend began as a business teacher at Earlsboro High School in 2005.
