Tecumseh Teacher Resigns After Failing Sobriety Test At School

On Sept. 7, 2023, Tecumseh Police Department was called to Cross Timbers Elementary to conduct a sobriety test on Jennifer Davis. According to the press release from Tecumseh Public Schools, it was determined that Davis was “unfit for duty and escorted from the school by police.

The Bethel Board of Education meeting was filled with patrons ready to voice concerns about the school’s dress code policies. Ten people signed up to speak during public comments and some offered possible solutions to the problems they perceive with the current dress code.

County Reviews ARPA Funding With New Maud Mayor

The new Mayor of Maud, Jimmy Porterfield, appeared before the Pottawatomie County Board of County Commissioners Tuesday, Sept. 5, to discuss the ARPA funds approved in January for a new water tower for the town. Mayor Porterfield said the cost of a new tower is estimated to be $1.
