OKDHS Recognizes Local Couple For National Adoption Month

November is recognized as National Adoption Month. During this time, Oklahoma Human Services (OKDHS) and partner agencies celebrate children leaving foster care to find permanency in their forever homes as well as the families and staff who make that permanency possible.

Yearwood Offers 39 Years Of Signage Expertise, Emphasizes Quality

Mark Yearwood, owner of Yearwood Design Works, moved from Weatherford to Shawnee in 2017. He built a new shop for his sign business at 19245 Industrial Drive, Suite 101, in Tecumseh, in 2018. But, he was still working out of a location in downtown Shawnee while the business got started.

Christmas festivities are only a month away. And a traditional Tecumseh festivity is returning with a new coordinator.

SCCDA Remains Two Seats Shy Of A Full Board

The Shawnee Civic and Cultural Development Authority is still two seats shy of an entire board. Last month the (SCCDA) voted to defer action on the recommendation to place Shawnee Tourism Director Stacy CramerMoore on the board. The deferment was due to a question of conflict of interest.

OBU Interns Encourage Local Spending

Marketing students at Oklahoma Baptist University have partnered with Executive Director Leslie Merritt at the Tecumseh Chamber of Commerce to help design a marketing plan, marketing schedule, and marketing campaign packet for the members and the local community.

Pediatric Vaccines Available

SSM Health is partnering with the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, the Pottawatomie County Health Department, and Shawnee Public Schools to offer a Pediatric Vaccine Clinic Friday, Nov. 19, from 4 to 7 p.m. Children ages 5-11 may receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
