The annual Oklahoma Press Association Convention returned to the Grand Casino Hotel and Resort, June 6-7, and celebrated the best newspaper coverage from across the state with its 2024 Better Newspaper Contest.

REAL ID Enforcement Begins

OKLAHOMA CITY—Starting tomorrow, travelers nationwide must present a REAL ID-compliant license or another TSA-accepted form of identification to board domestic flights or enter certain federal facilities, as federal enforcement of the REAL ID Act officially takes effect.

Ricochet to headline Fireflight Balloon Fest

SHAWNEE, Okla. (June 9, 2025) — Oklahoma country music band Ricochet will headline the annual Citizen Potawatomi Nation (CPN) FireLake Fireflight Balloon Festival on Saturday, Aug. 9.

Citizens of Brooksville got together for a sign dedication on June 7. They installed a sign with 108 names of long-time residents on the back of the 'Welcome to Brooksville' sign, which was erected last year.
