Comin' down, on the night shift

The Spring

The time is the late 1940s. The location is a rocky two-family farm in Southern Indiana. The contemporaries of yours truly are two cousins, one older and one younger than me. The focus of this column is a very small, all-weather, very clear, very cool, and very clean spring.
