Legislators spent some time updating citizens on the hard topics, and bills passing to the other side during the combined Shawnee Forward and Tecumseh Chamber of Commerce luncheon held at the Citizen Potawatomi Nation’s Cultural Heritage Center Friday, Mar. 24.

The Pottawatomie County Board of County Commissioners approved the purchase of new lockers for South Rock Creek (SRC) Schools Monday, Mar. 27. SRC Superintendent Ryan Rosser presented a couple of quotes to the board.

Shawnee High School senior, Scottland Meier, has completed a week of service as a page for Sen. Shane Jett, R-Shawnee. Scottland served at the Capitol during the seventh week of session from March 20-23. Paging gives high school students a behind-the-scenes look at the legislative process.

A $15,000 grant from the Avedis Foundation was given to Infant Crisis Services on Feb. 10. The needs met by the BabyMobile program are the most basic blocks of a family’s foundation—the health and security of their most vulnerable members.
