Oklahoma voted against recreational marijuana Tuesday. It was an emphatic “No” from 74 of the 77 counties. It was more of a not sure, but not right now from Cleveland, Oklahoma, and Tulsa counties. In Tulsa county, there was a difference of 6,541 votes, with 46.

Shawnee Recognizes Girls Swim Team, Wrestlers, Teachers

Much of the regular Shawnee Board of Education meeting on March 6 was filled with the recognition of students and teachers. There was much to celebrate. Wrestling Coach Andrew Mc-Cune introduced the wrestlers who placed at regional and state competition.

Board Approves Purchase Of Chromebooks for Students

The Tecumseh school board met for their regular meeting on March 6 and approved all agenda items, including the purchase of 300 Chromebooks for students to use beginning in the 2023-24 school year. The funds will come from the Pottawatomie County Half-Cent Sales Tax.

Tecumseh Family Raises Funds For An Animal Rescue

It all started with the love of a dog. Ten-yearold Eli Storie, of Tecumseh, and his Australian Shepherd, Pongo, have been best friends ever since Storie and his family fostered the dog with 405 Animal Rescue. It wasn’t long before the Stories adopted Pongo in 2019.
