Members of the Oklahoma Baptist University Board of Trustees were joined by OBU administrators, faculty, staff, and students to celebrate the ribbon cutting and dedication of the University’s recently remodeled Sarkeys Center Friday, Nov. 4, during their meeting on the OBU campus.

Students at Pleasant Grove School in Shawnee spent the past month working with nationally acclaimed artist and art educator G. Patrick Riley as part of a residency sponsored by the Oklahoma Arts Council.

Shawnee, One of 58 High Schools Teaching Aerospace In OK

Back in July, State Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell announced that Oklahoma is first in the country for high schools approved to teach the “You Can Fly” Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) curriculum, made available in the last year.

A Night Filled With Food Fun And Lots Of Awards

Approximately 150 4-H members and their families attended the Pottawatomie County 4-H Achievement Banquet recently held at North Rock Creek. “North Rock Creek was a great location,” said County Extension Director, Family and Consumer Sciences, and 4-H Educator Sonya McDaniels.

THS School Board Approves Budget

The Tecumseh school board approved all agenda items at the recommendation of Superintendent Robert Kinsey at its regular meeting on Tuesday night. Most notably, the board approved the district’s 2022-23 budget as presented in the Tecumseh Public School District’s Budget Guide.

BHS Approves After School Snack Program

The Bethel School Board held a special meeting on Nov. 14 to vote on the date, time, and place for the sale of $965,000 worth of General Obligation Building Bonds. Based on the recommendation of Stephen H. McDonald & Associates, Inc., the board voted to hold the sale on Jan. 20, 2023, at 1:00 pm.
