PAVE Candidate Forum Tonight

With the Nov. 8 general election just days away, a candidate forum Thursday night will help Pottawatomie County voters decide how to mark their ballots. The Pottawatomie County Advocates for Voter Education (PAVE) has scheduled the forum for Thursday, Oct. 27, beginning at 7 p.m.

BlueZones Announces It Has Localized And Rebranded

Blue Zones Project Pottawatomie County has announced a new brand identity. The well-being improvement initiative will now be known locally as Pottawatomie Go, or “Pogo.

Cattlemen’s Association Holds First Beef Quiz Bowl

There were 26 Pottawatomie County high school students who chose to spend a couple hours of their Saturday morning taking a test. It was the inaugural Beef Quiz Bowl - held at the Tecumseh High School Alumni Center on Oct. 22 - and the stakes were high, with a purse of $10,000.

Tecumseh residents were on alert Sunday morning after two home invasions combined with the sexual assault of minors prompted a manhunt near 7th and Jefferson. Subject in the home invasions/sexual assaults from Sunday morning has been booked into the Pottawatomie County Public Safety Center.

Kids In Costumes Fill Main Street, Downtown Shawnee

After approximately 20 years, the event formerly known as Boo on Bell and organized by Safe Events for Families (SEFF) is now Monsters on Main and produced by Community Renewal.

Adam Panter Swears In As New Dist. 23 District Attorney

The newly appointed District Attorney, Adam Panter, was sworn into office Monday and immediately went to work. Panter said he received a phone call Wednesday, Oct. 19, letting him know he would be appointed, and then Friday, the appointment was made official.
