Legislators And Commissioners Answer Questions

The Tecumseh Chamber of Commerce Legislator’s Luncheon on April 22 started off with Oklahoma Senator Shane Jett asking the three Pottawatomie County Commissioners how much they pay to blacktop one mile of road. The answer was $200,000. He would revisit that fact later.

Alva Melot: Tecumseh’s Renaissance Man

Only one athlete In Tecumseh School’s sports history played on one of the two undefeated THS football teams, and was also to coach the school’s only other unbeaten squad. That would be Alva Melot, who passed away recently, at the age of 103.

SSC Program Director Awarded Outstanding Instructor

Seminole State College Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Program Director and Assistant Professor Kelly Hankal was recently honored with the Outstanding Instructor award at the 2022 Making It Work Day Awards held by the Oklahoma Career and Technical Education Equity Council.
