Avedis Foundation welcomed New York Times best-selling author Wes Moore on Wednesday, Feb. 23, as part of the Foundation’s 2022 Speaker Series. During the luncheon, the Foundation also presented its inaugural Michelle Briggs ‘Here for Good’ Service Award to retired Army Colonel Jeff Madison.

The 2022 Pottawatomie County Junior Livestock Show Premium Sale packed the barn Friday, Mar. 4. Families, friends, supporters, and bidders continued to enter until it was standing room only.
Say Yes To The Prom Dress event coordinators Jessica Hernandez, Okie Dokie Mercantile & Co’s Christina Hernandez, and Cassie Low hide among racks of dresses they were sorting in preparation for the event. The pop up dress closet will provide high school students with approximately 1,500 free dresses to choose from for prom, during the three day event, March 18-20. Countywide & Sun/Kendra Johnson

FireLake Arena Hosts FIRST Robotics Competition

For the first time, FireLake Arena was the venue for the Oklahoma Regional FIRST Robotics Competition, March 10-12. Roger Farris, one of two lead coaches for the Sprockets team, said that before the COVID-19 pandemic, it was always held at the Cox Convention Center in OKC.
