A New Broadband Cable Provider Is Coming To Shawnee

Shawnee will soon have a new broadband (fiber) cable provider. Desi Stoops with Clarity Telecom, LLC presented information to the Shawnee City Commission Tuesday, Jan. 18, before a non-exclusive franchise permit was approved.

Raymond Talley Receives 75-Year Masonic Service Certificate, Pin

In Dec., former Tecumseh resident Raymond Talley reached a rare milestone. He was presented with his 75-Year Masonic Service Certificate and Pin at his home in Stillwater by Grand Lodge of Oklahoma representatives, Grand Master M.W. Scott Vincent and Grand Warden R.W. James Roderick, Jr.

SRC Holds Second Shark Tank Presentation

South Rock Creek Schools held their second nine-weeks Shark Tank, presentations on Dec. 16th, in the school cafeteria. Shark Tank is a school project that seventh and eighth grade students participate in as part of their computers plus course.

Free Fair Board Election Resolution Approved By County

The Pottawatomie County Board of County Commissioners approved going out on bid for a new roof for the Pottawatomie County Health Department. It was stated during the meeting held Monday, Jan. 10, that the last time the roof was replaced was in 1989.

Bethel Kindergarten Teacher Kerry Ingersoll was the 2021 Teacher of the Year for Bethel Lower Elementary and then, for the Bethel Public School District. Coming up in March, she will learn if she is chosen as the 2022 Oklahoma State Teacher of the Year.
