Gilbert Inducted Into Career Tech Hall Of Fame

The Oklahoma Career Tech Foundation honored outstanding Oklahomans for their exemplary achievement, leadership, and service in the field of career and technology education. One of those inducted on Oct. 3 was Pottawatomie County’s own Randy Gilbert.Below is information printed in the program.

Pottawatomie County Courthouse Closed Friday, Oct. 11

The Pottawatomie County Courthouse will be closed on Friday, Oct. 11, due to a power shut-off during the next phase of the installation of an updated HVAC system. It will be closed Monday, Oct. 14 in observance of the holiday and will reopen on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

Project: SAFE’s Annual Honey Do Auction Raises $165,000

On Oct. 3, the 16th Annual Project: SAFE Honey Do Auction brought the community together to raise funds for the victims of domestic violence, dating violence, stalking/ harassment, physical assault, and sexual assault.In 2023, Project: SAFE served 1,984 clients, with 86 percent of them being women.

Council Reviews City Attorney Candidates After Warwick’s Death

Discussion on hiring a City Attorney to fill the big shoes left after the passing of Mike Warwick last month was a high priority on Monday, Oct.7th, at the Tecumseh City Council Meeting. Two candidates threw their hats in at the opportunity.

First Miss Frontier Days Scholarship Goes to Jalee Meyers

Tecumseh’s Frontier Days 2024 was full of activity, as it is every year.On Sept. 26, the Gospel Sing was held at Slick Humphrey Park and featured the band “Under the Name of Christ,” led by Lonnie Crouch of Tecumseh.
