Larry “Shorty” Kinnamon

Larry “Shorty” Kinnamon passed away on Oct. 6, 2024. He was born to W.R. and Lucille (Beasley) Kinnamon on July 12, 1942. He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1960. Shorty was a member of the Cherokee Nation who served his country in the National Guard.

Solan Dodd

Solan Clarence Dodd passed away Tuesday, Oct.r 15, 2024. He was born September 7, 1937 to Oscar and Reba (Rust) Dodd in Shawnee, OK.Solan graduated from Shawnee High School. He married Patricia Cook on Nov. 17, 1956 in Shawnee, OK.

Kyntlea and Kolter Childers

Kyntlea Layne Childers and Kolter Wayne Childers were born and passed away on Oct. 8, 2024 babies to Kyla Sue Childers of Bethel Acres, OK. They lived for just a short while before passing.

Bernice Gibson

Bernice Gibson passed away Oct. 14, 2024.Bernice was born Oct. 7, 1936 in Little Axe, to Charley and Bessie (Spoon) Gibson.Bernice was a proud member of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe and a fluent speaker of the Shawnee language.

Sandra Smithey

Sandra Kay Smithey passed away on Oct. 9, 2024. She enjoyed stained glass crafting and traveling. Sandra liked taking people out to eat, and always picked up the tab. In her golden years, Sandra enjoyed watching wildlife from her porch.

Ricky Keys

Ricky Keys passed away Oct. 8, 2024. Ricky was born on Mar. 14, 1963 in Wewoka, OK to Juanita Azlin Dees.Ricky worked as a jack-of-all-trades for many years.Ricky married Loretta Ann Thomas on Nov. 6, 2004 in Shawnee, OK.

John McMahan

John Charles McMahan passed away on Oct. 1, 2024. John was born on Dec. 2, 1970 in Shawnee, OK to Johnny Melvin McMahan and Martha Beesley McMahan. He attended Tecumseh Schools. John married Windi Hall on April 2, 2011, in Las Vegas, NV. John was a union electrician for 30 years.

Donald Ray Qualls

Donald Ray Qualls passed away Oct. 2, 2024. Don was born on Oct. 24, 1934 in Idabel, OK to Millard and Ethel Qualls. He graduated from Idabel in 1953. Don was then drafted into the U.S. Army from 1959-1961, where he served as a medic and was stationed in Germany.

Reva Jean Derk

Reva Jean Derk passed away Sept. 30, 2024. Reva was born in Orange, TX to James Claude and Lora Marie Lagrone on April 28, 1948. Reva’s career as a cashier and her role in inventory control at Homeland Grocery showcased her commitment to providing excellent service to her community.

Kenneth Frank Vaughn

Kenneth Frank Vaughn passed away Oct. 5, 2024. He was born December 26, 1949 in Shawnee, OK to Frank and Doris (Youker) Vaughn. He served in the US Army during Vietnam at Camron Bay and was honorably discharged.
