Nancy Ellen Carlton

Nancy Ellen Carlton passed away at her home in Shawnee at the age of 90 on Sep. 6, 2024. She was born to Wiley and Ollie Fields on June 6, 1934 in Holdenville, OK. Nancy graduated from Holdenville High School in 1952 and the OKC Vocational School of Practical Nursing in 1975.

Geraldine Fortson

A service of remembrance for Geraldine Fortson will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14th at the Broadway Chapel in Tecumseh with Rev. Phyllis Stutzman officiating. Following the service, there will be a reception to allow friends and family a time to visit.

Alexis Talton

Alexis Rachiell Talton passed away August 26, 2024. Alexis was born to Byron Keith Talton and Alena Sharee Love on March 19, 1992. Alexis received her education at Earlsboro Public Schools. She enjoyed sports and outdoor activities. She also enjoyed cosmetics, hairstyling, nail care and traveling.

Carl Lee Roberts

Carl Lee Roberts passed away Sept. 1, 2024. He was born Dec. 23, 1945 in Ada, OK to Hobert Lee Francis and Dorothy Wilma (Magar) Roberts. He married Donna Sue Gunter on May 21, 1944 in Shawnee, OK. After 37 years Carl retired from Tinker AFB.

James “Jim” Henry Hight

James “Jim” Henry Hight of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away on Aug. 30, 2024. He was born at Ladd Air Force Base, Territory of Alaska on July 3, 1948 to Master Sergeant James Coleman and Betty Jewel (Wyatt) Hight. He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1966.

Paul Lyon

Paul Floyd Lyon passed away on Aug. 31, 2024. Paul was born in Shawnee, OK on November 2, 1946 to Paul Carson Lyon and Christine (Carter) Lyon. Paul attended Bethel High School where he played baseball and basketball before graduating.

George David “Frog“ Ferguson passed away on Aug. 23, 2024. He was born in Wynnewood, OK to Maude and Bill Ferguson on his Aunt Pearl and Uncle Guy’s farm on May 27, 1938. David graduated from Shawnee High School in 1956, where he was the first chair on the trombone in the band.
