Leona Faye Smith

Leona Faye (Nicely) Smith was born Sept. 2, 1937 in Payson, OK to William and Beulah (Moffitt) Nicely. She graduated as Co-Valedictorian from Meeker, OK in 1955. She married Gerald Smith on October 22, 1955 and was in a loving union for 55 years at the time of Gerald’s death in 2010.

Merle Buckmaster

Merle Dean Buckmaster, age 84, of Shawnee, OK, passed away on Aug.14, 2024, in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born April 30, 1940, in Gerty, OK, to R.B. and Maymie (Sanford) Gentry. Merle was raised in Gerty until she moved to the Shawnee/Tecumseh area for most of her life.

Nancy Ellen Carlton

Nancy Ellen Carlton passed away at her home in Shawnee at the age of 90 on Sep. 6, 2024. She was born to Wiley and Ollie Fields on June 6, 1934 in Holdenville, OK. Nancy graduated from Holdenville High School in 1952 and the OKC Vocational School of Practical Nursing in 1975.

Geraldine Fortson

A service of remembrance for Geraldine Fortson will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14th at the Broadway Chapel in Tecumseh with Rev. Phyllis Stutzman officiating. Following the service, there will be a reception to allow friends and family a time to visit.
