SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist seniors Alex Schroeder and Troy Shields were named All-America selections by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association and American Baseball Coaches Associations this week.

Potawatomi Fire Sweep Wichita In First Round Of Playoffs

The Potawatomi Fire clinched their spot in the Central Conference Finals with a 146-126 win over the Wichita Skykings on Saturday night.The Fire got off to a strong start, scoring the first six points of the game. From there, the Fire never looked back and never trailed.

The Fire was scheduled to play the Shreveport-Bossier Mavericks, but it was a forfeit. So, they played members of their own team and still won, 160-126. After winning an away game against the Enid Outlaws on May 26, they are the only TBL team to have a undefeated regular season, with a record of 20-0. They will go against the Wichita Skykings in the first playoff game in Enid tonight.

Fire Cap Off Historic Perfect Season, Playoffs Begin Tonight

ENID, OK – The Potawatomi Fire capped off a regular historic season on Sunday afternoon, beating the Enid Outlaws 146-113. The win improved the Fire’s record to 20-0 on the year, finishing off the first-ever perfect regular season in The Basketball League’s history.

Lindsay Tarpley reminds one group of kids what they need to work on during her soccer demonstration, sponsored by POGO for Health Week, at Jim Thorpe Stadium, May 28. About 50 children, ages 6-15, participated in the event, and 20 volunteer coaches led groups in the instructional practice. Tarpley was on the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team when they won the Gold Medal in both 2004 and 2008. She now co-owns World Champion Soccer Academy with her husband and is a keynote speaker.

After placing 3rd place at the State Track Meet, Kiara Stallin duplicated the feat at the Meet of Champions. Stallin tossed the Shot Put 41’7” at Stroud last week on May 14. Stallin is obviously consistent as she was just shy of her heave at the State Meet of 41’9.5”. Stallin has more medals to look forward to, as she will be a senior next year. School is just out for the year, and Tecumseh sports are already getting ready for a busy summer schedule.The Tecumseh Savage Basketball team has a busy schedule through June, including Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Junior High time on the court.

Fire Stay Perfect, Sweep 7ers

The Potawatomi Fire continued their winning ways on Saturday, beating the Texas 7ers 135-123. With the win, the Fire extended their TBL record win streak to 17. They also extended TBL’s record home win streak to 33 and swept the regular season series against the Texas 7ers.
