Fire Open Season With A Win

The Shawnee High School Girls Swim Team was recognized during the Shawnee Public Schools Board of Education March 4 meeting for winning at the State Championship Swim Meet for the third year in a row, even without the YMCA pool for practice this year.

Girls Swim Team And Wrestling State Champ Recognized

The nay-sayers said it couldn’t be done. This season, the Shawnee Girls Swim Team was without their record-breaking swimmer, Piper McNeil, who graduated last year. After the April 2023 tornado, they also lost their pool, when the Shawnee YMCA was struck.

Bethel Lady Wildcat, Josie Megehee, Sinks 1,500 Points

Bethel junior Josie Megehee has gone above and beyond and still hasn’t reached her ultimate goal.Less than one year apart, Megehee scored her 1,000th point on Feb. 17, 2023, and she reached 1,500 points on Feb. 1 of this year, said Head Girls Basketball Coach Tara Satterfield.

Tecumseh Savages Finish The Regular Season Strong

The Tecumseh Savage round ballers struggled to find a win in the early going but finished the season strong, winning 8 of their last 12 regular season games. The momentum carried over to the playoffs as the Savages won the District Championship to advance to the Regional Tournament winners bracket.
