School Board Member Sought To Fill Vacancy

The Tecumseh Public School’s Board of Education declared an open board member seat at April’s meeting. By last week’s deadline, no one from Ward Four filed to fill the seat of Tim Underwood, the exiting member.

Maud Water Tower To Be Refurbished

Plans to refurbish the Town of Maud’s water tower have been approved. Maud’s Mayor, Jimmy Porterfi eld, presented the documents needed to get the project rolling to the Pottawatomie County Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday, April 9.

Candidates for Local Races Finalized as Filing Closes

Candidate filing closed last week, and several local races will be decided in June.Five candidates filed for Dist. 2 County Commissioner. Incumbent Greg Rush, who won the special call election and took office just nine months ago, will run again.

Charges Filed In Death Of 2023 Tecumseh Graduate

According to the press release from the Cleveland County District Attorney’s Office, charges of manslaughter and driving under the infl uence, causing great bodily injury, have been filed against Sutton Petz for inhaling Whippets while driving, causing her to pass out and crash the vehicle.

McLoud City Council Approves Property Purchases

During the Mar. 28 meeting of the McLoud City Council, board members approved the purchase of equipment for the purpose of keeping some of the road repairs in-house.A Dynamic asphalt roller will be purchased from CL Boyd for $77,720.08, and a pothole patching trailer from Crafco, Inc., for $53,310.
