Seminole State College recently received a community health grant from SSM Health St. Anthony – Shawnee in the amount of $10,000. The grant will be used to continue offering free mental health counseling to students through the College’s Help Center.

During the dedications at the Pottawatomie County Administration Building, there were many laughs and some tears.The state-of-the-art Commissioners Meeting Room was packed. You could say there was standing room only, but even that would not be entirely true as some were peeking in the door.

February’s weather has presented us with as many surprises as January did. However, in February, it went the other way with unseasonably high and even record-high temperatures. We were afforded a number of clear, warmer, evenings which provided some excellent viewing opportunities.
