An executive session was held to discuss two items on the Shawnee City Commission agenda for the meeting held on Nov. 17. The first topic discussed behind closed doors involved a property that was being sold adjacent to a Shawnee Public Works Department property.

Pottawatomie County Commissioner (District 3) Abby Thompson announced today she is running for the Republican nomination in the State Senate. Thompson is running for the District 17 Senate seat currently held by Sen. Shane Jett, who is leaving office due to term limits.
