Charter Change Votes, Yes or No

Changes to the City of Shawnee’s Charter are on the ballot for Tuesday, June 13, 2023. The Countywide & Sun has spent some time reviewing the information provided by the City and researching information currently included in the Charter and State Statutes referenced by the City information sheets.

My refrigerator sounds like a tree frog. Every 13 seconds it lets out a tiny, soft croak. The sound doesn’t bother me, but it did take a couple of weeks to figure out where it originated. Mr. Right finally told me.

Night Sky Report

Well, Mother Nature did it to us again with rain, cloudy skies, with a tornado thrown in, for good measure, here and there. Not only forcing the cancellation of a number of viewing sessions but delaying construction of the observatory’s building that will house the 20” Starmaster Telescope.
