Roy Dean Hawkins died peacefully Nov. 10, 2021, at his home in Shawnee, OK. Roy was born Dec. 25, 1942, in Parks, AR. He served in the United States Air Force from 1960-1964 and in the Reserves for 2 years. The funeral service was held Nov. 13, 2021 with a graveside service Nov. 15.

Mary Ann Romberg

Mary Ann Romberg died Nov. 10, 2021. She was born Feb. 14, 1935, in Prague, OK, to Joe and Mae Bell. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Rock Creek Baptist Church. The funeral service was held Nov. 16, at Rock Creek Baptist Church in Shawnee.

Kitty McAfee

Kitty (Harris) McAfee, 78, of McLoud, died Nov. 10, 2021, at her home. She was born Sept. 8, 1943 in Muskogee, OK, to Cecil and Suzie (Duncan) Harris. Services were set for Nov. 17, 2021, in Walker Funeral Service Chapel. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery. Rev. Larry Sparks officiated.

Ruby Eloise (Bruno) Withrow

Ruby Eloise (Bruno) Withrow, 87, of Shawnee, died Nov. 14, 2021, in a local hospital. She was born April 10, 1934, in Concho, OK, to Johnny B. and Beatrice (Casteel) Bruno. Services have been set for Nov. 19, 2021, at 10 am in Walker Funeral Service Chapel.

Danny Kuhl Smith

Danny Kuhl Smith, 80, of Norman, OK, died Nov. 2, 2021, at his home. He was born Oct. 4, 1941, to Elmer Neal and Emily Grace (Acklin) Smith in Canton, MS. Danny attended Bradford High School in Bradford, AR, before enlisting in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1962. During this time he served in Korea.

Douglas K. Freeman

Douglas “Doug” K. Freeman, 61, of Tecumseh, OK, died Nov. 4, 2021. Doug was an electrician by trade and worked for an oil pipeline for 30 years, retiring in Feb. 2021. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, beekeeping, and, more recently, stained glass.

Justin Avin Tascier

Justin Avin Tascier, 33, of Tecumseh, OK, died peacefully Oct. 23, 2021. He was born June 14, 1988. Justin completed his Bachelor’s degree at Rogers State University and worked in the sign field. Justin’s pride was in art and working to support and mentor children.

Carl David Corrick

Shawnee resident Carl Corrick, 74, died Oct. 15, 2021, after a brief illness. Carl was born May 15, 1947, in Shawnee to David and Ruby Corrick. His kind heart and gentle spirit touched the lives of millions as a DJ with KOMA, KEBC, KGFF, and WKY. Carl was also a proud member of the Masonic Lodge.

Ronald Lee Nease

Ronald Lee Nease, 81, of Shawnee, OK died Oct. 1, 2021, at his home surrounded by family. Ronald was born in Stratford, OK, on March 17, 1940, to Andrew and Laverne Nease and graduated high school in 1958.

Everett Charles Pickard

Everett Charles Pickard of Shawnee, OK, died Oct 27, 2021. Five years to the day and month of his wife, Freda Pickard’s passing. He was born to Charles and Beulah Pickard April 8, 1935. Services were held Nov. 1 at Resthaven Funeral Home.
