Bethel Schools Dress Code Will Stay As Written

After a lengthy discussion, the Bethel School Board approved the dress code as written at the special meeting held on Tuesday, Oct. 17. Susan Watson said the information provided to the board showed the majority of the dress code complaints were about piercings, not clothing.

Experience Mummy Day At the Mabee-Gerrer Museum

The Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art is hosting its annual Mummy Day on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 11 am to 3 pm. The free, family- friendly event celebrates Oklahoma’s only mummies, including Tutu, which is on permanent display at the Museum.

4-H Outstanding Senior Award And Hall Of Fame Award Go To Taylor Marrs

There were many 4-H Club members “Surfing the Waves of Success” at the Pottawatomie County 4-H Awards Banquet on Oct. 23 at the North Rock Creek High School Cafeteria.
Several McLoud FFA students (and a little brother) were ready to help customers at their first plant sale, Oct. 19-20, since their new climate-controlled greenhouse was built. They offered mums in several colors at the sale, as well as tulip bulbs from a business in Harrah. Horticulture students have also grown wax begonias, succulents, coleus, potato vine, wandering jews, Swedish Ivy and potato vines, which will be offered at their sale in April. McLoud FFA Holds First Plant Sale In New Greenhouse

A little over a year after the McLoud Board of Education approved plans for a new high school greenhouse on July 11, 2022, using ESSER III funds, the McLoud FFA chapter held its first plant sale in it, Oct. 19 and 20.

Two Murders, Two Suspects In Custody

Tuesday evening, Oct. 24, suspect Frank Byers was taken into custody under a probable cause warrant for the murder of Makayla Fay Meave-Byers. On Sept. 16, Byers called 911 to report Meave-Byers missing, stating she had not returned home the night before.

SPS Brings Two New Buses To Electric Vehicle Show

Young and old were taking a ride on the school bus on Oct. 21, but it is likely that none of them had ever experienced a quiet, clean bus ride like that.
