The Pottawatomie Board of County Commissioners held a long meeting Monday, Oct. 2, finally adjourning at 5:29 pm. Most of the meeting was spent in executive session (from 2 pm until they adjourned) discussing the positions and duties of Terra Allred, Debbie Allison, Kurt Schultz, and Thad Campbell.

The Tecumseh City Council authorized the purchase of a $24,241 security camera system for the city’s Slick Humphrey Park, during their regular monthly meeting on Monday, October 2nd. This comes as a result of increased vandalism issues in recent months.
Sometime around midnight or 1 am, a fire downtown fully engulfed the top floor of the building that housed Bugatti Buds and Candy Licker.. Shawnee Fire Department is dousing the roof of The Ritz in an attempt to keep the fire from spreading. It was reported in the Countywide & Sun l that the two bond propositions for McLoud Public Schools passed. That is not correct. Bonds require a 60 percent vote (super majority) to pass and neither propositions received the required votes to reach the 60 percent threshold.
