House Of Hope Receives Domestic Violence Prevention Funds

Citizen Potawatomi Nation Public Information Department The Citizen Potawatomi Nation House of Hope received a $200,000 federal grant to help raise community awareness about domestic violence. It was one of only five programs in Oklahoma to receive the U.S. Indian Health Service funds.

Tecumseh House Fire Tragically Claims A Life

A loud explosion, a fully engulfed house fire, a fatality, and ashes falling from the sky across town was the scene in Tecumseh just after 5 pm Friday, Jan. 20. The scene on Washington Street, just east of 4th Street in Tecumseh was contained to one residence.

Shawnee Holds Special Session To Review Hiring Options

Since Shawnee Superintendent Dr. April Grace is stepping down on June 30, the rush is on to find a new superintendent. So, the Shawnee Board of Education met in a special session at 9 am, Jan. 21, to decide on how they would proceed.
