Town of Bethel Acres Honors Volunteer FireFighters

During the monthly meeting held Apr. 7, 2025, the Town of Bethel Acres honored members of its volunteer fire department for their actions to protect the town and its residents during the wind and firestorm of Friday, Mar. 14.
Landon Sutton lifts his son, Greyson, 3, both of Pink, to see inside a 1952 Chevrolet Rat Rod owned by Monty Prince and his son, Denver Prince, both of Bethel. The Princes also own Red Dirt Metalworks and fabricated parts for the vehicle. They worked on it for about 5 or 6 years, and this was their first car show to present it. Bethel Car Show attracts 153 vehicles

The Ninth Annual Bethel Band Boosters Car Show reached new heights this year.The Bethel High School Jazz Band performed that morning. They had a successful season, with Superior ratings at the SWOSU Jazz Festival. The Car Show is a fundraiser for the school band program.

County Approves Vehicle Purchases

The Pottawatomie County Commission approved several expenditures and initiatives during its April 15, 2025, meeting. This included a $62,260 purchase of a 2025 Chevy Tahoe for Dist. 3 to replace an outdated vehicle, as stated by Commissioner Abby Thompson.The commiss i o n greenlit $54,795.
Tecumseh Historical Society member Arthenia Haney, dressed as Kate Barnard, rings a school bell amidst the display about Barnard and the elementary school named after her on April 11. Haney will be playing Barnard again for the Tecumseh Museum's 30th Anniversary Open House on April 19 from 10 am to 2 pm. Tecumseh Historical Society will host an open house at the Tecumseh Museum on Sat., April 19, from 10 am to 2 pm to celebrate its organization, opening and incorporation 30 years ago.
