Washington, D.C. - On Monday, Apr. 7, Representative Bice and Senator Lankford hosted a Commemorative Survivor Tree Dedication Ceremony on the United States Capitol Grounds.
Casey White was recently elected to Ward 7 of the Shawnee Public Schools Board of Education. He was sworn in during the April 7 meeting. White replaces Bobby Canty who will be honored at the May 5 meeting at 6 pm. Natasha Dunagan, Countywide & Sun

There was a new face on the Shawnee Public Schools Board of Education and the absence of a long-time public servant during the regular meeting on April 7.Casey White was elected in the April 1 election to fill the Ward 7 seat, and was sworn in by Board President Clif Harden.

Blue Phoenix Rises to take on High School Robotics Competition, Sprockets on Winning Alliance

Forty-eight teams competed in the Oklahoma Regional FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition, which was held at Fire-Lake Arena, April 2-5.Most of those teams (33) were from Oklahoma. Others traveled from Colorado, Missouri and Arkansas.

Voters in Pottawatomie County who want absentee ballots mailed to them for the May 13, 2025, South Rock Creek Proposition Special Election should apply now.Absentee ballots are available to any registered voter, provided they are eligible to vote in the election requested.

Relay for Life of Pottawatomie County is inviting you to their 40th birthday party on April 26, 1-4 pm, at Shawnee Early Childhood Center (SECC).

He equated his concern for lack of willing citizens to replace aging Tecumseh Council Members, with the drought crisis facing the town 20 years ago that allowed for citizens to walk across Tecumseh Lake. During public comments, John Collier, council member for Ward 4, made his way to the podium. This was so he could look at his fellow council members “eyeball to eyeball.” Collier said, “We have an urgency with filling those chairs up there.
