South Rock Creek Public Schools has released the names of honor roll students for their second nineweeks. Two separate honor rolls recognize students for their academic achievement. The Superintendent Honor Roll is composed of students who earned a 4.

Jim Thorpe Academy Finds New Home At Wilson Elementary

Shawnee Superintendent Dr. Aaron Espolt announced that the Jim Thorpe Academy (JTA) has moved into the Woodrow Wilson Elementary building this semester. The JTA building was destroyed during the April 19 tornado, and students have since been hosted by Immanuel Baptist Church.

Tecumseh Recognizes Outstanding Teachers

Tecumseh Board of Education held its regular monthly meeting on Jan. 9 and covered several agenda items related to school operations, personnel, and recognizing staff achievements. The Board voted on recipients of the Teacher Recognition Awards for the 2023-2024 school year.

The past year held health challenges and the destruction of their former historic location at the corner of Gordon Cooper Drive and Hardesty Road, but their business has been "twice as busy" as before the move, and they have continued to share their success with several non-profit organizations. Oliver Brothers Reflect On The Past Year At Hardesty Market & Deli

For Grady and Scott Oliver, the owners of Hardesty Market & Deli, 2023 was a roller coaster ride. In March, Grady had complications from an appendectomy that put him in the ICU for 22 days and a total of 50 days in an OKC hospital.

Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art Opens Angel Exhibit

Shawnee, OK— The Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art has opened the exhibit, Angels Among Us, which includes works of art from the Renaissance to contemporary featuring various types of angels. Delaynna Trim, Curator of Collections, will be giving a Gallery Talk on Friday, Jan. 26, at 7 pm.
