Hip-Hoppin’ Summer Fun At The Tecumseh Public Library

The Tecumseh Public Library is hip-hopping with fun these past summer weeks. As part of its Summer Learning Challenge, the library hosted a hip-hop dance class on Wednesday, June 28. Jesus Martinez, an instructor at RACE Dance Collective, came to teach the teens how to breakdance.

Blackberry Festival Attracts Thousands, Car Show Returns

The tens of thousands of people who attended McLoud’s Blackberry Festival enjoyed cooler weather, more blackberry food and craft items, and a longer parade this year. The car show was also back after a three-year absence.

TPS Board Approves Raises

The Tecumseh Public Schools Board of Education approved a $1.50 per hour raise for support employees and a teacher salary increase to take effect beginning at the 2023-2024 school year.

Pharmacists Join Forces To Help Eric’s Pharmacy

Eric’s Pharmacy is open for business - just not where they were before the April 19 tornadoes. Following six weeks of remodeling by contractors, a former Automax at 4151 N. Harrison in Shawnee was transformed into their new pharmacy.

Oklahoma Press Association Elects 2023-2024 Officers

Sheila Gay, publisher of the Woodward News, took office as president of the Oklahoma Press Association July 1. Gay was elected by OPA members during the annual business meeting at the June 9-10 OPA Convention in Shawnee. She succeeds Zonelle Rainbolt as president and will serve a one-year term.
