Grant Search Underway For Tennis Court Replacement

During the Tecumseh City Council Meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 6, there was a lengthy discussion regarding the tennis courts in Slick Humphrey Park. The city requested permission from the council to search for grants to assist in replacing the current courts that are in terrible condition.

Early Voting Opens Sept. 7

Early voting begins Thursday, Sept. 7, for voters in Pottawatomie County and ends Friday Sept. 9. The County Election Board, located at 330 N. Broadway, Shawnee, will be open 8 am to 6 pm on these dates for early voting.
Tecumseh Cheerleaders Addison Taron and David Lawrence, both sophomores, judge a 1949 GMC truck belonging to Larry Higgs of South Rock Creek at the Third Annual Tecumseh High School Cheer Booster Club Car Show on Aug. 26. People of all ages enjoyed touring the Chinook Cargo Helicopter (CH47) F Model during Cops N’ Kids at the Heart of Oklahoma Expo Center on Aug. 26. Flown by U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 5 Mike McGill with the help of Flight Engineer First Sgt. Robert Calvert, the helicopter traveled from Lexington, OK, and tried to get to the event early so it wouldn’t cause havoc. The CH47 was the Cops N’ Kids Mystery Display this year.
