New Safety Features Approved For South Rock Creek Schools

South Rock Creek Public Schools has been approved to use a portion of sales tax funds to implement safety precautions like a “window safety film.” Ryan Rosser, South Rock Creek Superintendent, introduced this action during the weekly meeting of the Pottawatomie County Board of County Commissioners.

Pink Town Council Disbands Zoning Committee

The public has spoken, and the Town Council of Pink listened. After a heated Pink Zoning Board Special Meeting on May 8, in which 25 citizens voiced their opposition to the Proposed Zoning Ordinance Draft, the Town Council of Pink set a special meeting on May 15 to discuss disbanding it.

Vietnam POW Honored With Bronze Plaque

U.S. Navy Pilot Commander Danny Glenn was flying an A-4C Skyhawk over North Vietnam when he went across a clearing in the overcast clouds. It was the 135th mission of his second cruise when he was hit three times by anti-aircraft artillery.

The Pottawatomie County Election Board offers special services to military and overseas voters along with their spouses and dependents, making it easier for them to vote. All eligible applicants must complete a Federal Postcard Application (FPCA) in order to access benefits.

Tecumseh School Board Honors Elementary Robotics Team

The Barnard Elementary Robotics team, the LEGO Savages, was honored during the meeting of the Tecumseh School Board. Robotics sponsor Mardesia (Finch) Johnson presented about their recent trip to Houston, TX, for the FIRST Robotics League World Festival, where the team won the Coding Award.
