A lengthy discussion was held during the Tecumseh School Board meeting Monday, Feb. 13, regarding the school mascot. Victor Cope said it had been two years since he brought the request “to explore the possibility of changing the name Savages.

To Holly Keller-Ross, Jan. 24 was a work day like any other. The coowner of Past to Present Marketplace at 7 W. Main, in Shawnee, was decorating her display windows for Valentine’s Day.

Gravel Growler Attracts 273 Athletes To Shawnee

It may have been early in the morning with temperatures in the mid-30s and windy, but nothing was going to stop the Oklahoma Gravel Growler from returning on Sat., Feb. 4. The last time this gravel bike race event was organized by SpOKeLAHOMA was in Feb.

It was a short agenda with mostly housekeeping items at the Pottawatomie County Board of County Commissioners meeting Monday, Feb. 6. The board approved the resignation of Dist. 2 Commissioner Randy Thomas from the Pottawatomie County E911 Trust Authority Board.

Corporal Tom Williams received the 2022 Officer of the Year Award Jan. 27, during the Shawnee Police Foundation Banquet held at The Grand Casino. Williams began working for the Shawnee Police Department (SPD) five years ago.
