Experience Mummy Day At the Mabee-Gerrer Museum

The Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art is hosting its annual Mummy Day on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 11 am to 3 pm. The free, family- friendly event celebrates Oklahoma’s only mummies, including Tutu, which is on permanent display at the Museum.
Twenty-seven contestants in the Tot, Little, Junior and Miss Frontier Days Pageant perform the musical number dressed in period costumes for the “Remember When” theme. The pageant was held on Sept. 24 at the W.P. Wood Alumni Center at Tecumseh High School, but the Junior and Miss contestants will be crowned before the Frontier Days Parade on Sept. 30. Forty Girls Compete In Frontier Days Pageant

Forty Frontier Days Pageant contestants took to the stage at the W.P. Wood THS Alumni Center on Sunday, Sept. 24. With the Frontier Days theme being “Remember When,” about 27 girls dressed in clothes from past decades started the pageant off with a musical number.

Hip-Hoppin’ Summer Fun At The Tecumseh Public Library

The Tecumseh Public Library is hip-hopping with fun these past summer weeks. As part of its Summer Learning Challenge, the library hosted a hip-hop dance class on Wednesday, June 28. Jesus Martinez, an instructor at RACE Dance Collective, came to teach the teens how to breakdance.

Tecumseh Vet Clinic Founder Retires After 46 Years

Dr. Bob Evans, DVM, grew up on a farm in Perkins and helped to work land in Lincoln County. His father was a vocational agriculture teacher, and his mother was a teacher, as well.
Retired Asher Baseball Coach Murl Bowen was recently one of three honored at a Silo baseball game for being in the top 10 with the most wins nationwide. The other two were his nephews, Billy Jack Bowen and Randy Bowen. The elder Bowen had an all-time record of 2,115-349 from 1959 to 1998. Murl Bowen, of Asher, has led a life dedicated to baseball. He grew up playing baseball in Little League, high school and college. And he achieved great success in the 39 years he coached baseball at Asher High School.
The Barnard Elementary LEGO Savages received the Core Values Award during a FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Qualifying Event at Gordon Cooper Technology Center last fall. Because of that, they have now been invited to represent Oklahoma at the FIRST LEGO League World Festival, in Houston, April 19-22.
