Hannah Davidson’s Determination Leads To Success

Her doctor told her she wouldn’t be able to walk for six months, and she probably wouldn’t be able to run for eight months. But Bethel High School athlete Hannah Davidson beat those odds. The accident happened on July 4, 2021, when Davidson was tubing on Shawnee Lake.

Bethel High School Junior Chosen To Play Softball In Italy

Brooklyn Duff has been playing softball since she was three years old in Wee Ball. She is now a junior at Bethel High School and a shortstop and utility player on the varsity softball team. Duff also plays for the Oklahoma Pure FastPitch 18U travel ball team.

Spinning Spools Hosts Tri-Annual Quilt Camp

It’s not just kids who attend summer camp. It’s also for those who love to sew and quilt. Thirty members of Shawnee’s Spinning Spools Quilt Guild recently attended their tri-annual Quilt Camp, June 24-26 from 8 am-10 pm, at the Shawnee Masonic Lodge.

There’s a new office manager at the “Countywide & Sun,” but her face and name may be familiar to some subscribers. In 1991, Julie Talton began working as a photographer for the “Shawnee Sun” in sixth grade, when she would come to work with her mother, Vicki Duff.
