The Dale Pirates Basketball Team prepares to run up and claim the golden basketball trophy after winning the OSSAA Class 2A Basketball State Championship on March 8 at the State Fair Arena. The Pirates won against Cashion on March 6, 74-55; Fairland on March 7, 76-51; and, Pocola on March 8, 60-20, to take state for the fourth year straight. They end the season with a record of 30-2. The McLoud High School Girls Wrestling Team took first in the Class 5A Oklahoma State Championship on March 1 at the State Fair Arena. This is only the second state championship for McLoud. The first was in 2002 for fast pitch softball, according to OSSAA.com. The Lady Redskins are shown with their Head Wrestling Coach William Winters, second from left.
