The first-ever Shawnee Police Department Toy Drive was a huge success. Receiving 751 toys, the department was able to distribute gifts to 162.
The patrons of the Tribbey Senior Center collected donations of hats and gloves (or monetary donations) that ended Dec. 2. On Wednesday, Dec. 14 the items were presented to the Wanette School administration with a pair of gloves going to each student in the district. Photo provided

Emergency Warming Stations Open Today

Shawnee’s Emergency Warming Station is set to open today, (Thursday, Dec. 22) at 11 am, and will remain open through Sunday, Dec. 25 at 9 am. The City of Shawnee has partnered again this year with C3 Church, 329 N.
