McAllister Named Junior Sailor Of The Quarter

GREAT LAKES, Ill. (August 29, 2022) – Naval Station Great Lakes announced their Sailors of the Quarter for the third quarter of FY-2022. Operations Specialist 2nd Class Cheyenne McAllister, from Shawnee, Oklahoma, was named Junior Sailor of the Quarter for Great Lakes.

As of the Sept. 6 City Commission Meeting, Ward 6 now has a new commissioner representing them around the horseshoe. At Monday evening’s meeting, now former commissioner Ben Salter was presented with a Resolution of Appreciation for his time on the board.

Start your engines! There was a big crowd Saturday, Aug. 27, at the 2nd Annual Car Show in Tecumseh, held by its very own cheerleaders. With a whopping 112 entries, the cheerleaders stayed busy. The show consists of people showing their cars, including engine, interior, and all.

Frontier Days Pageant Draws Over 20 Contestants

One week earlier than last year, Tecumseh’s 45th Annual Frontier Days Festival will officially start with the Frontier Days Pageant on Sept. 11 at 3 pm. With a registration deadline of Aug. 19, the pageant will have more contestants this year: 23, compared to 14 last year.
