When Fran Topping was 14, she gazed at her grandmother’s photographs of her uncles in military uniform and wondered why there were no photos of women. It was then she decided to become that woman in uniform she wished to see. Life went on.

Pottawatomie County voted for a new Dist. 3 County Commissioner Tuesday, Nov. 8. It was a tight race between candidate Abbigale Thompson and incumbent Eddie Stackhouse, unofficial results show 3,098 votes (51.

This year, they joined forces with First United Bank to add their annual "tailgate party" and grilled hamburgers.

Thousands turned out for Tecumseh's Business Trick-or-Treat on Halloween, lining both sides of Broadway St. Candy was standard, but fruit was also popular. First United Bank gave out bananas for the second year, and Tecumseh Library had clementine oranges and temporary tattoos.
Surgical Supply Technician Brice Koons and Bethel senior Cadence Treece pose with the sleeping mats, tarps and bags made from disposable surgical instrument wraps at SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital in Shawnee on Oct. 20. Treece picks up the wraps from Koons each week, and her mother, Richelle, sews them. The Treeces made their first donation of eight adult sleeping mats, six pet mats, three child mats, 29 bags, one pillow, and two tarps to the St. Benedict's Catholic Church Community Breakfast on Oct. 22.
