Pott.County, OK — Pioneer Library System (PLS) invites community members to read, make, and explore STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) this fall.STEAM education plays a critical role in developing problem-solving abilities, collaboration, creativity, and emotional well-being.
The Frontier Days Pageant was held on Sun., Sept. 21, at the W.P. Wood/THS Alumni Center, and all age groups were crowned except the high school girls. Miss Frontier Days will be crowned before the parade on Sept. 27, around 9:30 am, and presented with a $500 scholarship. See full caption below.

Frontier Days Celebration continues Tonight

The annual Frontier Days celebration kicks off tonight, Thursday, Sept. 25, with the Gospel Sing. Saturday’s events begin early, but don’t wait to join the fun since the festivities will wrap up about 3 pm.GOSPEL SING: Slick Humphrey Park, 6-8 pm Sweetheart/Frontiersman Crowning.

Dazzling steps and spirited performances lit up the stage at the Rotary Club’s Second Annual Dancing with Shawnee for local causes. The spotlight wasn’t just on the dancers’ moves, but on the causes they championed during the fundraiser’s second year.

This past week, Pottawatomie County lost not only a journalist but a man whose devotion to truth and fairness defined his work and his life. His absence leaves a void in Tecumseh, throughout Pottawatomie County, and among journalists who strive to follow his example.
