Voter Registration Day: Sept. 16

On September 16, 2025, Pioneer Library System (PLS) will join a nationwide coalition of thousands of partners to celebrate National Voter Registration Day with a coordinated effort aimed at helping every eligible Oklahoman get registered to vote ahead of Election 2025.

County Fair Awards

The 2025 Pottawatomie County Free Fair is in the books. The four-day event ended Saturday, Sept. 6, with the Awards Ceremony.
Ransom Parsons, 9, and Raykin Parsons, 4, both of Earlsboro, show in the Senior Geldings division of the Pottawatomie County Free Fair Horse Show on Sept. 6. Ransom placed fifth with his horse Cowboy, out of 11 entries. The judge for the horse show was Jaclyn Sturgeon.

Bus fueling conversion approved for TPS

Tecumseh School Board voted to enter into an agreement with GES Energy, LLC, to implement a program that uses compressed natural gas in district school buses. This was discussed at last month’s meeting and tabled for further inquiries.

Frontier Days brings back Sweetheart, Frontiersman Contests

The Tecumseh Frontier Days Festival kicks off with the Miss Frontier Days Pageant on Sept. 21, 2 to 5:30 pm, at the W.P. Wood/THS Alumni Center. See more information about the pageant in next week’s Countywide & Sun.

CPN College and Career Fair

On Sept. 3, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation hosted a college and career fair for high school juniors and seniors from Pottawatomie County at Firelake Arena. To attend the event, high school students were required to register online from a link sent out by their school counselors.
