Vice Mayor Appointed to Shawnee

It was time to (re)appoint a Vice Mayor to the Shawnee City Commission at July’s meeting, and Commissioner Daniel Matthews got the nod from his fellow members.

Pottawatomie County Approves Agreements

Pottawatomie County Commissioners approved three agreements and sent one project back for rebidding during their July 15 meeting.The board authorized a contract with the Citizen Potawatomi Nation to provide X-ray services for the Pottawatomie County Health Department on an as-needed basis.

Pottawatomie Go (POGO) Executive Director John Bobb-Semple reminds participants in the Freedom Fest kids' parade to check their helmets before he leads them around Kidspace Park, as the parade marshal, on July 5. The First Annual Freedom Fest was hosted by POGO and Shawnee Parks and Recreation. They gave prizes for Most Patriotic, Most Enthusiastic and Most Creative. They also had a sidewalk chalk art contest.

Earlsboro Alumni hold annual reunion

The annual Earlsboro Alumni Reunion was held Saturday, June 14, 2025 in the Wes Jeske Auditorium. Earlsboro Days, sponsored by the Town of Earlsboro, was held that morning featuring a car show, silent auction, games, vendors and food trucks on Main Street.
